The Work
The Work, with a capital W is any form of introspective or inner healing practice that brings the conscious mind in touch with the unconscious mind for self knowledge, spiritual development and the resolution of symptoms, illness or conflict in life.
We can use esoteric terms like enlightenment, Individuation or spiritual alchemy, or we can simply call it psychological therapy to work out our issues and mature ourselves. Some Work can be done alone, while some requires a partner or trained helper.
Some inner Work is passive maintenance work such as general self-awareness, meditation or prayer. Some inner work is active, deep and challenging - because it aims to unearth repressed energies, unwind and resolve old destructive patterns and to integrate fractured parts of ourselves. This deeper work, sometimes called shadow work is what I teach.
Since there are many schools of inner work, you should know that my orientation is Jungian, coming from the school of the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. On top of this mindset and approach, I add a number of other compatible concepts and practices that have been developed more recently like Internal Family Systems therapy, Emotional Processing therapy, TMS physical symptom therapy and other trauma informed approaches.
I also have spent many years studying and writing about the human shadow and its connection to cultural evil. Therefore, people who consider themselves red pilled or black pilled may resonate with me. I am supportive of all spiritual and religious orientations.
Everything I share with you, I am using in my own life, since I am a self healer myself. The methods that generate results, I incorporate into my counseling work as well as books, websites, lectures and interviews.
Do any of these scenarios apply to you?
• You have developed physical symptoms, syndromes or illnesses that cannot be resolved by medication or medical treatment. You may have been told by professionals that your symptoms are due to an accident, a genetic disease or other “reason”, but intuitively, you know there’s something psychological or even spiritual at the root of it all.
• You suffer from states of anxiety, anger, dread, grief, guilt or depression that have recently come into your life or they may have been building in the background for many years. You can now see that your current condition is a repeat of an old cycle, or even your parents’ cycles, but you don't yet know how to work this out.
• You recognize that you had a difficult childhood or adolescence, regardless of how you may feel about your family.
• You find yourself addicted to a substance or behavior that you have tried to kick but have not been able to kick so far. Or you have kicked the habit many times before, but it keeps calling you back, especially when life gets stressful.
• You have a hard time feeling joy, relaxing or “letting go” without drugs or alcohol. There are always “reasons” why you can’t relax or life distractions that take you back into a state of urgency and anxiety.
• You find yourself triggered by people, politics or events that cause you to be overwhelmed with negative emotion that takes you over. You realize that you may be “projecting”, or that an old cycle of conflict is turning again but you don’t yet know how to stop it.
• You have been in many different relationships that each show similar patterns of conflict, abuse or disappointment. Or - you and your spouse, friend or boss have a habitual conflict cycle that you have not been able to resolve. Or - you use the internet to get into fights that never end.
• You have been clinically diagnosed with some sort of "disorder”. You may be on medication or not. You don’t want to accept such a diagnosis or prescription, but you have not yet found better options than the ones offered to you by health care professionals. You may have tried therapy and found it only marginally helpful.
• You have become disillusioned with mainstream society, whether you call this being red-pilled, black-pilled or just cynical of modern life and are finding yourself angry and wanting to “do something” about the state of the world. At the same time, you realize that a healthy world requires people who are themselves healthy, but you don’t currently feel totally healthy or know what to do about this.

If any of the above describe your experience, and if you are willing to recognize that your symptoms have psychological roots which are healable, then I can help you. If you are willing to recognize that inner healing is a process and a life path rather than any single quick fix, I can help you. When you are ready to get to the deep inner core of your symptoms and cycles, I can help you. You heal yourself , but I am an experienced shadow work facilitator and helper that you can rely on.
What happens in sessions?
I always strive to give you the most benefit for your time as I can. If you call me for a one-off session, its best to focus on one or two issues that you want to work on. I will listen to you and then suggest ways to approach your situation that will help you resolve the conflict or impasse and help you learn something new about yourself and the inner patterning that is involved.
In regular counseling, I will learn about you, your life and background more intimately. I will teach you multiple shadow work practices that you can use in life to reduce your anxiety, relational conflicts and physical symptoms. When you’re ready, we can conduct IFS therapy where we will trace your inner conflicts back to your childhood or intergenerational roots and you will learn to communicate with your dissociated child parts and help them come back together. As we work together we will analyze your dreams and you will learn about the Jungian way of seeing life and consciously developing yourself towards your unique destiny.
I will also give you homework like keeping a dream journal, doing certain meditation and awareness practices or making certain lifestyle changes. If you have a spouse or partner, they can get involved (or not), depending on your situation. And if you stay with the Work, you will make good progress and your symptoms and attitude will turn around. My goal is not only to act as a problem solver for your current situation, but to teach you a holistic toolkit you can use for the rest of your life.
